Back in November Peppercorn Press posted our then “secret” recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is a recipe that we worked on for some time to perfect, and then enjoyed privately for many years.
We are proud to announce that since our posting of that article on FoodBuzz, our Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe has been selected to be included in A Global Cookbook being published by the FuelMyBlog Community. All proceeds from sales of this great collection of recipes from different regions of the world will be donated to help fight world hunger.
The following is an excerpt from the book jacket:
“With recipes from all around the World, highlighting local food and styles,
the book as been created by many. All proceeds from the sale of this cookbook are going to stophungernow.org.
This book brings Fuelmyblog community together offline in a unique book.
Each recipe is local to its region or country.”
It is our hope that this book will have record sales in order to help in the
fight to abolish hunger around the globe.
The following is from stophungernow.org:
“Established in 1998, Stop Hunger Now is a 501(c)3 non-governmental relief organization that coordinates food and medical aid projects across the globe. Our mission is to provide the maximum amount of food and life saving aid to the maximum number of the most poor and hungry throughout the world in the most rapid, efficient and effective manner.
Stop Hunger Now provides direct food relief in crisis areas and in areas where chronic hunger and malnutrition exists. Our innovative model of developing international partnerships, as well as working with indigenous organizations, has created a responsive, timely method of distributing needed resources.
Utilizing our contacts, partnerships and other available resources enables Stop Hunger Now to deliver life-saving aid and services by the most economical means possible. Stop Hunger Now works to end hunger through:
- Emergency Relief: Providing food and aid immediately following
a crisis situation- School Feeding Programs: Supplying schools in crisis areas with high
protein, vitamin enriched, dehydrated rice-soy meals- Medicine and Medical Equipment: Extending life-saving medicine
and medical equipment in areas lacking the necessary resources- Capacity Building: Supporting partnership organizations with capacity
building grants designed to improve local program infrastructure
and support programs.
By using minimal organizational staff, we are able to maximize the amount of aid delivered to people in need. In addition, working with in-country partners to deliver food, medical supplies and other emergency aid allows us to drastically improve our response time.
Stop Hunger Now has provided over $44 million dollars worth of aid to more than 65 countries worldwide to date.”
