Basic Tomato Sauce

2 28 oz cans diced tomatoes
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 TBS tomato paste
1 tsp olive oil
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 cup minced fresh basil
salt and pepper

Additional Tips
Process tomatoes and juices in food processor until mostly smooth.  Cook the garlic, tomato paste, oil and red pepper in sauce pan over medium heat until tomato paste begins to brown (about 2 minutes).  Stir in tomatoes and cook until thickened, about 25 minutes.  Off the heat stir in basil, season with salt and pepper.
